SAT Prep and Practice

SAT Information and practice sites

The SAT exam is very important, because 1) it can impact what colleges and universities accept you, and 2) it may affect whether or not you qualify for significant scholarship funding. The more familiar you are with an exam like the SAT and the more time you spend practicing answering test items, the better your are likely to do on the exam. It is not too late to learn more about the SAT and complete some practice tests or items.

Two key sites for learning about the SAT exam with several practice exams on each are linked to below:

The College Board website:  https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/

The Khan Academy website:  http://www.khanacademy.org

Both sites include information about the SAT, its structure, the types of items you will see, and they include numerous sample items and several complete practice SAT exams.  Khan Academy is partnering with the College Board, which writes and scores the SAT, to help students prepare.  There are other prep sites and resources, but these are both very good and absolutely free.

The video below provides a relatively brief overview of the Khan Academy site:

Many Blue Water Middle College Academy students have already used both sites for practice and are familiar with what they offer.  If you have not been to the sites, it will be worth it to view the video and then get to work!  Good luck!!
